Hi, I'm Ev. I'm training to become a horsewoman. These are my adventures and misadventures. I'm green as hell, but so far, so good. I'm now learning from Bo (and sometimes his wife DeDe) at D&D Ranch in Pope Valley. I am extremely lucky to have this opportunity, I feel quite blessed, and I feel that they, and horses, have really turned my life around.
Solomon is my baby- a big old flea bitten grey Appendix gelding who is very kind and way too smart! I love him so very much. He is a rescue and was meant to be co-owned rehabbed, and maybe rehomed to a good home. He turned out to be over 25 years old with injuries that ultimately do not make him riding sound, so he is retired.

*crankyface*

I am SUPPOSED to be at the ranch right now, running around with my horse and getting neck-hugs. I'm supposed to be cuddling his big grey head and feeding him tastynoms. And maybe RIDING sweet Teddy Bear Mare. But what am I doing instead?

Waiting for a repairman who will get here "sometime between 8am and noon."

Of course, that means he'll be here sometime after noon, and probably not be done until 2pm at the earliest, which is far too late to go up there now that the days are shorter.

I am a cranky ev.

I do not like being alone with some random stranger in my home, either. Makes me anxious.

Mostly though, I need my horse time. For my sake, and for the sake of the menfolk, who have to deal with me when I am feeling trapped at home, heh.

If I cannot see my horse today, I might go to wildcat peak. Probably cannot make it all the way up, maybe cannot even make it to the trail, but I can try. Wish I had a hiking buddy with me. Somebody I already know.
